Stories and Songs of the Abenaki Indians
Marge sings traditional and contemporary Abenaki greeting songs, friendship songs, dance tunes and original ballads, accompanied by drum and rattle. As a storyteller, she brings the northeastern Native past to life with trickster tales, lesson stories, and historical anecdotes to intrigue, teach, and entertain listeners of all ages.
Marge Bruchac, PhD, is an Abenaki Indian with roots in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, and deep research interests in the Connecticut River Valley of Vermont and Massachusetts. Her research, writing, and performance work focus on decolonizing museum representations of Native American Indian peoples, recovering culturally appropriate versions of indigenous oral traditions, tracing the situated knowledges contained in Native family stories, and investigating the resonance of transculturalism and transnationalism in American history.

Autumn Equinox Fire Circle
Join Kellianna round the fire in celebration of the Autumn Equinox. We will gather together under the stars and use elemental and seasonal chants to celebrate Mother Earth at harvest time. In gratitude for the glorious bounty of the harvest we will raise our voices together and honor the Mother and all of her gifts. This is the time to reap the "seeds" that were sown at the Spring Equinox and nurtured throughout the Summer.
Kellianna is an accomplished musician and performer worldwide. Her live shows are a combination of acoustic guitar songs and chants inspired by Mythology and Magic. Kellianna facilitates chant circles at festivals and shops all over the states and in the UK. She is a collector of chants and takes great joy in sharing these chants in her circles. She is experienced in the art of ritual chant, and uses the song to move energy, to celebrate the ancient mysteries, and to strengthen intention.
Ceremonial Sweat Lodge
Since the beginning of time people across the globe have engaged in some form of sweating for physical and spiritual balancing. This lodge does not follow any particular tradition but is an honoring of all of our ancestors who have offered their prayers over the millennia. This lodge is an opportunity to enter the “womb of the earth” to give of yourself and offer prayers for the health of the planet and all its beings.
Bring a towel (not from your room but one you have brought) and wear a light garment. Please do not eat before going in the lodge. Food will be available after the lodge. Drink plenty of water all day long prior to the lodge.
Mark Carlin was first initiated as a New Warrior with the Mankind Project in 1993 and has since participated on the staff of many trainings.
