North America's Most Vital Healing Plants
Join us for a visual feast as we travel across the meadows, woodlands, and backyards of North America via an exquisite slide presentation identifying our potent and common medicinal plants, weeds and back yard medicine. Often forgotten in our quest for the new, the miraculous and the exotic, these remarkable yet common medicinal plants play an even more important role in our modern herbal pharmacopoeia as the need for sustainable, renewable sources of medicinal plants becomes ever more evident.

EVENING PRESENTATION ~ Planting the Future ~ Stewards of Healing Herbs, Ecological Concerns of Native American Medicinal Plants & What We Can Do to Help Preserve Them.
Through a beautiful slide presentation, Rosemary will discuss the conservation, preservation and cultivation of important Native Medicinal Plants. We’ll also discuss land as sanctuary, how to create botanical sanctuaries on your own land, building native medicinal plant trails, and the work of United Plant Savers, a grass roots non profit organization.

INTENSIVE –  Herbs for Winter Health
Winter is Saturn’s season, a time for reflection and inner creativity. In this intensive, we’ll evoke the spirit of wellbeing so that we can embrace the beauty and reflective nature of this wonderful season.

Do you wonder what to do for flu? What is the best approach for colds and coughs, sore throats and head congestion? Or Seasonal depression? Better yet, what to do to prevent the malady’s that often come with the long months of winter. In this eminently practical hands-on Intensive, Rosemary will share her favorite recipes, remedies and herbs for winter health. Our focus will be first and foremost on prevention, then remedies for wellness and, finally, what to stock in a winter pantry to be fully prepared for the health concerns of winter. We’ll make, sample and share recipes. Bring your favorites recipes for winter health to share.

Becoming Well! - Through conscious Daily Choices
Many of the dis-eases we see in our clients arise from poor choices made over many years. Diabetes, heart conditions, arthritis and other chronic dis-orders can be addressed, and also avoided, when one understands his/her personal constitution, impact of nutrition, emotional health and sense of connection. Kate will weave Ayurvedic concepts with herbal traditions, specific nutritional recommendations, flower essences and case studies to share ways of supporting those who have the courage to change old patterns to experience a new-found vitality and renewed sense of self.

The Spirit of Place: Four Magical Places
Share an interesting and inspiring look at environment through the eyes of the naturalist, the herbalist and the spiritual wanderer. We will share the light and essence of these special places through storytelling and photography. Our travels have brought us to the Provincelands and Great Island on Cape Cod, the Adirondack Mountains, rocky, coastal Maine and The Burren of County Clare, Ireland. Each of these wonderful locations has inspired us in our practice of the wild. Forests, plant communities, foundational stone, wind, and the spirit of the people and the past have led us to our love and connection with these four magical places.

“Got Culture?” The Art of Fermenting
Cultured food: Japan has miso and pickles, France has wine and cheese. With our industrialized food that has been processed, pasteurized and artificially preserved, one might say America has no culture. Learn how to put some culture back into your life with fermented foods, such as sauerkraut, yogurt, kefir, cultured butter and pickles. Learn what's in them, how to make a few of these items and why lacto-fermented foods are important and beneficial to our health. Sauerkraut and kefir are two foods we will focus on.

Through food, herbs, and lifestyle we can have a tremendous impact on our ability to conceive. In recent years we have learned more about how everyday factors influence fertility, and whether for clients or for self-care, we will explore ways to increase conception and the building evidence-base in this area.

They help keep us grounded and nourish our root charka. Learn what they feel like, how they taste in the raw, and some interesting ways to BE with them.

What Every Herbalists Needs to Know About the Intelligent Nature of Plants
Scientific research is now discovering what indigenous healers and shamans have known for millennia: that plants are highly intelligent multi-dimensional beings capable of large quantities of information storage, complexity in communication and a high degree of retention in order to make decisions at a future time. Plants can do all of this, and much more, without a so-called brain. The ability to access source energy is at the core of efficient and effective healing. Join us and learn how the sentient nature of plants and their intelligence engages the healing process.
